Task & responsibilities

• Giving advice on hair and beauty care: Talking with clients to understand what they want, and suggesting hairstyles, treatments, or beauty products that suit their hair type, face shape, and lifestyle.
• Washing and conditioning hair: Shampooing clients’ hair to keep it clean, followed by conditioning and scalp treatments to make the hair soft, shiny, and healthy.
• Applying chemical treatments: Using professional products to colour hair, straightencurls, or create permanent waves, while making sure the client’s hair stays safe andhealthy.
• Cutting hair: Trimming, shaping, and cutting hair using scissors, clippers, or razors toachieve the desired look.
• Styling hair: Creating a variety of styles, including braids, dreadlocks, and updos, as wellas adding extensions for extra length or volume.
• Grooming facial hair: Shaping and maintaining eyebrows, removing unwanted facialhair, and providing treatments such as threading, waxing, or tinting to enhance naturalfeatures.
• Maintaining a clean workspace: Keeping chairs, tools, and equipment clean andsanitised to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients. 
• Managing appointments and payments: Scheduling client bookings, keeping track of appointments, and handling cash or electronic payments.
• Working with wigs and hairpieces: Cleaning, colouring, cutting, and styling wigs or hairpieces to help clients achieve their preferred look

Qualification & experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Hairdressing (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a hairdresser or in a similar salon role.
• Strong knowledge of hair care, cutting, colouring, and styling techniques.
• Experience with chemical treatments such as straightening, perming, and colouring is highly valued.
• Skilled in creating a variety of styles, including braids and extensions
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to understand and meet client needs.
• Ability to work in a busy, professional salon environment.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to client satisfaction.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends if required.
