About the role

Russo Earthmoving & Landscaping is seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Wanneroo, WA 6065. This is a hands-on position that plays a crucial role in our earthmoving and landscaping operations. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery to complete landscaping, excavation, and earthmoving projects with precision and safety as our top priorities. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst being part of a team that values quality workmanship and professional excellence.

Key responsibilities

1. Operate 1.7T - 4T excavators efficiently, demonstrating fast and accurate digging skills while maintaining safety and quality standards.

2. Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of machinery to ensure all equipment is in safe working condition

3. Follow all site safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to all health and safety regulations

4. Communicate effectively with fellow team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to specification

5. Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and report mechanical issues to management

What we're looking for

1. Current Heavy Machinery License or equivalent qualification recognised in Western Australia

2. Truck License (desireable)

3. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to machinery operation and construction sites

4. Ability to read and interpret site plans, specifications, and technical drawings

5. Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for precise machinery operation

6. Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic with strong attention to detail

7. Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors

8. Valid driver's licence (preferred)

9. Previous experience in earthmoving, landscaping, or construction industries (preferred)
