Maintenance Tech / Fitter

• FT Hours - Mon to Fri  
• $45 - $47 P/H + Super
• Autonomous role with decision making capacity for Trade Qualified applicants

Our client is a leading global manufacturer of engineered rail solutions for their infrastructure partners including BHP, Rio Tinto, Transperth etc. providing signalling, switching and turnout track products across WA. This is a long term, temp to perm opportunity that will provide the successful applicant an opportunity to enter the hard to crack rail industry with an employer renowned around the world. 

About the Role:  

We have an opening for Trade Qualified and Experience Mech Fitter / Tech who is looking for a long term, Perth based role. The successful applicant will operate in the clients Kewdale facility, a friendly, safety-first environment where employees are highly valued.

The role is an autonomous one, providing trust in the candidate to make decisions day to day on maintenance, contractors and process improvement. This is a great opportunity for someone with an ownership mentality and provides a platform to gain experience in a high paying industry loaded with opportunity. Experience in rail production is not necessary, however an extensive workshop background to match your trade qualifications is essential.

Please note this is a hands-on role where you will be conducting maintenance and repairs yourself – not sitting in an office directing. As such, you will need a physical capacity and ability to pass pre-employment medical.

Scope of Work:

The scope of the role may include but not be limited to the below.
·        Plant and Equipment Maintenance
·        Preventative Maintenance and Scheduling
·        Identifying Areas of Process Improvement
·        Liaising with External Contractors and Stakeholders
·        Operational Input (as required)
·        Decision Making
