About the role

We have three full-time fixed-term position available now to 30 June 2029.

The General Hand role involves a range of duties that vary according to operational needs within the Fleet and Waste Services Business Unit. Responsibilities may include litter collection, operating rear and side loader vehicles, collecting bulk verge material, assisting at the City’s Recycling Centres and Containers for Change Refund Point, and supporting operations in the Depot Store or Fleet Services team.

The position may also complete special projects as directed by the Supervisors – Waste & Recycling. The tasks undertaken contributes to the delivery of outstanding customer service, safe and efficient services within the City and to improve the quality of life of all people who live in, work and visit the City of Swan.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

• Comply with relevant Work, Health and Safety legislation and complete all work in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the public’s safety and that of other workers  
• Safely operate a variety of plant and equipment in accordance with City policy and procedures

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

• HR Driver’s Licence (manual)
• Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $67,161.59 to $69,926.63 per annum, plus weekend penalties, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
